The article "Education and training needs of social entrepreneurs" by the researchers Marlene Amorim, Marta Ferreira Dias and Helena Silva, Department of Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering, University of Aveiro – the Portuguese partners of our project, won the 1st prize ("Best paper") on the 5th Conference Iberian Entrepreneurship (Ciem2015).
The result of the research work on the project Erasmus + "Social Entrepreneurship Support Europe - SES EU" analyzes the needs of education and training for social entrepreneurs, pointing at their profiles. A total of 147 stakeholders in the social economy, in three European countries, were asked to deepen knowledge of the needs of social entrepreneurs. The results show not only that they tend to have different academic backgrounds of traditional managers, but also because of their specific characteristics, their education and training needs differ from those of other entrepreneurs.
The Ciem 2015 took place from 15 to 18 October in Oeiras, Portugal, and was attended by technical and scientific conferences, debates, round tables and presentations on the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Iberian Peninsula.
